David, our skipper and principal instructor, bought his first boat in 1977 and since then he has owned an RLM 32, a Broom 35, an Aquastar 38 and an Aquastar 46. He has cruised extensively including the English and French coasts, northern Europe, the Channel Islands and the Mediterranean.
He taught his first RYA shorebased course in 1988 and qualified as an RYA Yachtmaster Instructor (Power) in 1994. He believes in maintaining the highest standards of seamanship whilst ensuring that all our guests, whether charter passengers or sea school students have a truly exceptional experience on board LADY KIMALA.
In addition to being an RYA Yachtmaster Instructor David is also a qualified private pilot and an enthusiastic hill walker. Prior to setting up Mercator Maritime he held a number of senior management positions in the UK, the United States and Switzerland.
