THEORY COURSES

At Mercator Maritime we specialise in offering individual personalised tuition designed to meet your own specific requirements. Training takes place at our premises in Verwood, Dorset or we can come to your home or boat.

Each course is individually designed to meet your own personal objectives although we do offer a standard two day course in Electronic Navigation and Seamanship. This course covers all of the basic skills which you will need to navigate safely in daylight using a modern chart plotter. It is taught using actual Admiralty charts, rather than artificial training charts, and the price includes an Admiralty Leisure Folio valued at £44.

To help in the learning process we have a Raymarine Plotter/Radar in our classroom which we will use for practical demonstrations of effective electronic navigation.

All theory courses require some evening study in order to cover the entire syllabus

The fee for theory training is £175 for the first day and £125 for subsequent days.
